Description
Eversweet strawberry is a day-neutral variety known for its continuous production from late spring through fall. It produces medium to large, bright red berries with a sweet, mild flavor even in warm conditions. Plants are vigorous, adaptable, and well suited for garden beds, raised beds, and containers, making them a reliable choice for extended harvests.
Care Instructions
Light: Full sun. Provide at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily for best fruit production.
Watering: Keep soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water at the base of the plant and increase frequency during hot or dry weather.
Soil: Well-draining, fertile soil rich in organic matter. Slightly acidic soil with a pH of about 5.5–6.5 is ideal.
Fertilizing: Apply compost at planting and feed every 4–6 weeks with a balanced fertilizer or one formulated for berries. Avoid excessive nitrogen.
Pruning: Remove dead or damaged leaves. Trim runners to focus energy on fruit production unless propagating new plants.
Mulching: Mulch with straw, pine needles, or shredded leaves to retain moisture, suppress weeds, and keep fruit clean.
Support: No support required. Plants are low-growing and spread naturally.
Pollination: Self-fertile. Pollinated by bees and other insects. No hand pollination required outdoors.
Harvesting: Harvest when berries are fully red and ripe. Pick every few days during the season. Produces continuously from late spring through fall.
